.Roses are black.
hellos everyb0dy!I've got a new blog url now...
www.rhapsody-in-writing.blogspot.com I initially created it becoz I thought that there was a problem in my old blog...which turned out to be juz a glitch in the blogger system. So ah wells...might as well.I'm pretty attached to my current(or rather, old) blog...But haha its time I break away from it coz its not good to be too attached to such things...^_^Plus,rhapsody-in-writing is much easier to type in that individualistically-different...Say that 10 time fast.Heeeheehee.. 0o0 ![]() It's a world of leggings A world of Crocs It's a world of Bai Ling And pants with frocks. There's so much to abhor Every day, there is more It's a fug world after all. OMG,look at those outfits. These outfits are not even fit for the upcoming halloween season. wahaha, love reading this website..http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/. This critic scrutinizing the poor celebrities' dressing. Its seriously funny...perhaps alittle mean but oh geez, some of them really dress terribly. They wear clothes that do not flatter their skin tone and does nothing to their figure >.< eeps!its...horrifying!<> I hate Crocs. No wait,I can't say that..becoz I have no reason to hate it.I juz don't understand WHY would people even want to wear them.Sure, they're comfortable..but they're also one of the most hideous shoes.Wad's alittle bit of comfort when you walk around looking like you raided Ronald Macdonald's shoe closet? There are plenty of other comfy shoes that don't look clownish. And the brightly coloured rubber!*shudders*Crocs are not cheap either...I must admit they look cute on little kids..But on adults, its juz...*twitchtwitch* ugly. 0o0 Gak,I'm worried and afraid.Haiz.But there's nothing I can do at the moment except to wait and hope for the best.Sooo, its best to forget about it till the time comes. Here's a video clip on a cute little round faced cat!Haha,I was practically squealing when I saw this video.. 0o0 I'm tired of... being sick and tired. how nobody ever seems to stay. how the past never seems to leave me. being paranoid. being left out. feeling fat and ugly. being not good enough. how nobody seems to care. how nobody even knows. 0o0 Today...is the last day of the holidays!sniffsniff,my beautiful 7 weeks of holidays is over!Sad,it was starting to grow on me.And I'm not looking forward to this coming semester's set of modules. Inorganic Chem:BLEH!I'm gonna do very badly for this module...I remember in secondary 3,calculating of moles and wadevers were terrible. And unless I've suddenly sprouted extra brain cells devoted to chemistry problem solving(which I seriously doubt so),I am still going to fail miserably in this module(which I am not looking forward to).I think its even worse than organic chem.. Maths and Stats:Oh joy!And here I thought I didn't have to deal with maths ever again in poly.I've heard that this module includes A maths syllabus...which I DIDN'T take in secondary school either.Fabulous.Looking on the bright side,yay..I'll be learning something new!And erm oh...not gonna do well in it too.Bummer, was never any good in maths. Microbio:Oooh, exciting!I love bio..but microbio would consist of alot of complicated words. And dawn's spelling isn't too good.In fact, she still strongly suspects that she's slightly dyslexic..juz that the doctors didn't detect it.But Mark(Ah Cheong) said that it was easy...so I'm taking his word for it.I love bio,and that's one of the modules that I AM looking forward to. Physiology:I'm looking forward to it too...hopefully it wouldn't turn out to be a nightmare.Ah Cheong said that its alot of memory work..which is,not good>.< Sports and Wellness:Oooh!!I hope I can get a dance sport or something. No tennis or badminton..can't play those for NUTS.Wouldn't mind swimming either. If they offer it. CATS:Dunno wad it stands for...but its some very CME like module.Heehee,interesting. I intended to spend my last day of the holidays well...so Diana accompanied me to Cineleisure and I bought my much looked for Mr X!He's a little figurine that can be hooked onto your handphone..and whenever you send or receive an sms,or call...his little dick will light up!Lols, its alittle obscene...but this little handphone charm is super cute! Those who know me will also know that I have a certain fascination with things that light up,or slowing changes colour...oh well.I found a sliver Mr X,which matches my phone..yay.^_^ I tried the Japanese Wasabi ice cream at the round floor of Cineleisure...it was interesting.And...erm,gross.I like my wasabi on my sushi and sashimi, but the weird mix of creaminess of ice cream and the sharpness of wasabi was juz...mismatched.When you first taste the icecream, its creamy and slightly sweet...but the aftertaste is...strongly wasabi. After awhile it was causing me more pain than pleasure...so after 3/4s of the icecream,I dished out the remaining wasabi icecream and disposed of it...and ate the waffle cone.Lols, diana said I got conned by the icecream guy.I remember being apprehensive on trying wasabi icecream.. Me:Which one is nicer, the azuki bean or wasabi? The guy:the wasabi is interesting..its something different ba.. Me:Ok,izit nice?Is the wasabi taste strong? The guy:Hmm,its 50% wasabi inside the icecream...but its not very strong lah... Me:Have you tried it?Do you like it?As in,REALLY..(hey,I've worked before..there are pple who juz say it to make the sales.) The guy:*confidently*Yeah, its nice! Me:hmm..ok.I'll have one then. Wahaha,it was an interesting but painful experience!Never will I eat it again.Although I tried not to show it,at times my face must have shown wad I thought becoz Diana was sniggering at me...-.-lols.So a word of caution.Unless you're absolutly LOVE wasabi,do NOT try wasabi ice cream.Seriously.Becoz I'm a person who loves strong tasting food myself(gimme onions, curry, garlic, ginger, spices and cheese!!)...but the wasabi ice cream was really,PAINFUL!!!!*cringes* At Taka, there was a fashion show put up in celebration of Takashimaya's 13th anniversary..I think. So diana and I stopped to watch for awhile. But the clothes weren't that nice, and mostly of very plain design.Colours were very simple..so after awhile we got bored and went to Macs and talked.Shared a large ice lemon tea between us..and surprisingly we managed to finish it! 0o0 On tuesday Esther,Vivian,Adele and I went Kboxing!Lols,I've never been kboxing until I entered poly..and my fellow kantang Vivian(being in ACJC) was so excited coz it was her first time going kboxing!Haha,I don't mind kboxing...but normally i go there to stuff myself with the titbits and listen to pple croon in chinese. The english song collection in kbox is limited, and most of them don't have the music videos to the songs...so isn't so fun.But yeah, every since I entered poly,I've been exposed to more chinese songs than ever. Now,I know who's Lin Jun Jie and Wilber Pan Wei Po(or I guess that's his name) and some F.I.R girl(or isit a band?)...ooh,and S.H.E!Lols...Esther was so enthu about going kboxing,so Viv decided to call along pple to go kboxing with her. Heehee,Vivian looks alittle sunburned in that pic...But don't get me wrong..the only chinese song I know how to sing is..."lao su ai da mi"(direct translation:mouse loves the big grain of rice). Its so cute! the 5 things dawn loves about kbox.1.the kbox titbits.DEFINATELY.heehee. 2.the kbox ice lemon tee(mymy,I'm very greedy am I?) 3.singing Skater Boy. 4.taking pictures! 5.did I mention, the titbits?haha. Here's some of the pics we took during Viv's Pizza Hut dinner(it was her bday!).. Bottom to top, left to right:Liwen,Jessi,Vivian,Esther,Deborah and I.So good to see those pple again...Beatrice came later on.Deborah looks pretty without her glasses!! Beatrice at the very top... ![]() 0o0 William JinQuan,Beesim and I on the ferry ride to PULAU UBIN.the ninjado chalet was so fun...^_^We went cycling, which was enjoyable!Haha,sadly..I wasn't too used to riding on a bicycle(also coz embarassingly,I had trouble reaching the pedals) so I skidded and fell!Got really bad scrapes on the elbow and palms.Had trouble sleeping at night(haha) coz couldn't find a comfortable posistion to rest without putting pressure on it.The one on my right palm was disgusting>.<..first night it was wet and pus filled.BLeh. We climbed up to the highest peak of Ubin..the view was so breathtaking!!Even the photos couldn't capture the wonderful view to such an extent. We were lucky coz at that time it was SUPER windy!I loved the wind!!It was so strong that it blew me back afew steps once...such nice wind,I didn't wanna come down!
Candid shot! Most of us were caught unawared. Yay,nice!Isn't the view behind really nice?![]() From left to right, top to bottom:William,Derrick,Mark Cheong,JinQuan,Joyce,Beesim and me! Interesting flora and fauna in Pulau Ubin. When we got back to the chalet..the birthday boys got bullied by us!That's jinQuan and Ah Cheong bundling Derrick up in a blanket. Wahahaha, all of us squishing Derrick!!See the reddish brown hair and purple nails at the bottom..yeps,that's ME!![]() Derrick likes getting squished..
JinQuan cooking away and Joyce in the background ![]() Derrick,Beesim and I.Dunno why derrick dozed off so early during the chalet... Ah Cheong -_-" I think it was Ah Cheong that said ths picture looked alittle wrong...lols.*mumbles something that sounds like,"who ask him never wear his shirt?"* JinQuan! Thanks for cooking all the food for us and planning this whole thing,JinQuan! All of us had a great time!Although I was terrified of the dark I enjoyed walking through Ubin at night..The air was nice and cool and I saw fireflies!^_^ Didn't see much animals though...was hoping to see some more wild boars(only spotted one racing across the road while we were cycling),ah well..maybe next time!0o0 I can't believe that in the span of our 8 year friendship I do not have a single photo of Kenneth and I saved on my com-.-.Nvm then.Must remember to take more photos with him.. Yesterday my nose was running terribly.Eyes were watery and my nose was sore from running...I suppose it was due to the lack of sleep and aircon.Or maybe the mattress I slept on was dusty..I dunno.Haha, everybody said I looked terrible.Worship and the sermon was punctuated with my loud "Ah-Choo!!s" and trumpet-like blowing of nose>.<...haha,for those who know me would recognise my signature like sneezes and blowing of nose.I could tell I looked pretty bad as Kenneth(my friendly tissue supplier) sympathetically handed me a pack of tissues and said that I could keep it.I slept for 3/4s of the sermon...really felt like crap.Daniel said I looked like crap...haha. We headed down to dover to have lunch...and I was wondering what was taking Kenneth so long. Then I saw him hurrying towards our table..and he bought Panadol Cold for me!Was super touched(and surprised) by this simple gesture."Dawn, must take the Panadol and get better ok?If you blow your nose too much, the nasal passage will get inflammed!".Lols, good old Kenneth..everybody calls him "popiah" because you can depend on him for anything and to have everything, bao ga liao.Come to think of it,I don't really understand that explaination. But hey,he likes to eat popiah too!I remember the time when I was wallowing in depression,he called me up to talk and attempt to cheer me up.The keyword is "attempt",he didn't manage to make me feel better...but the fact that he bothered to call and talk meant something to me.Thank you Kenneth, you're a great fren...really felt tons better after taking medicine^_^ 0o0 The haze keeping you in and there's nothing to do?Are you grumpy? ![]() Haha, swiped this pic from Linus. Its a...yoda cat!Hmm,the little fuzzy creature doesn't seem too pleased to be related to the famous Star Wars character though... Derrick showed us this amusing diet advertisement.FuNNY!! Ack,look at the haze!I swiped this pic from Jinquan's blog.It may look nice in the pic..But its terrible when you're actually walking in it...and breathing in the wonderful, polluted air.The haze is so thick, you can see a clear beam of light coming out of the car's headlights. As I was going home,I looked out of the window of the bus and realised I couldn't see anything beyond 10m!Kinda dangerous for drivers and motorists>.<...Grrr,and people are falling ill coz of this haze.Lols,my brother's ill with a fever and sore throat right now...and he hijacked my bed and aircon.Haha,so now I'll be sleeping on the mattress.-.- Felt so disgusted when I read Xiaxue's comment box. This indonesian got peeved at Xiaxue's blatant rudeness of her country..and thus started verbally attacking singapore.Pfft,no class.Yes,Xiaxue was rude and crude..but there was no reason to insult us back.Afterall, trees are being burnt out of convienence in the expense of singaporeans' health...oh wells. I hope it clears up soon.. 0o0 Almost all of us are familiar with the painting of Mona Lisa.I've heard that the artist,Leonardo Da Vinci actually hired entertainers to amuse his subject when he was painting her portrait. Thus, that famous subtle smile. But is she really happy? I've always had a certain liking for Vincent Van Gogh, amongst all the artists.Undoubtedly he was one of the most eccentric, but he was also one of the most honest. His colours on his pieces were painted to reflect his mood at that period of time...and that is what I admired most about his art.Even when he was impoverished, and people didn't want to buy his sad, gloomy paintings...He didn't revert back to painting happy, yellow sunflowers. But I must admit..he did have alot of ailments through his lifetime...>.< Haha,I'm in a class full of cam-whores.Let's face it,most of us DO like taking photos. Why?Most of the time its becoz we want to capture the Kodak moment,or life as we wish it to be.How we hold on to these memories...wishing that these times will never end. Some take photos for the glamour, and similiarly...don't we all wish we could stay in there? *on the subject of photos and paintings... You painted me a picture of world, and the Kingdom of Heaven. You've shown me the painting of my redeemtion, and my heritance. Can you paint me a picture of tomorrow?I need Your insight. There will be an answer, let it be. Heeheehee, cute isn't it?Ack,I fell down while cycling during the ninjado chalet(pics will be uploaded next time!) and ended up with scrapes on my elbow and hands.First few nights was alittle gross, coz pus kept oozing out of the wound on my palm(bleh!).Had trouble finding a position to sleep as well, coz resting on the wounds stung. But its getting on ok now...scabs have hardened up,so as well as I don't rub against it or poke it too much,it'll be fine. But argh, the one on my elbow...that huge scrab.I'm now fighting the mad urge to pick at the scabby layer of my wound("Nice souvenir from the chalet"quoted by Ah Cheong, aka Mark Cheong.).it looks awfully gross upclose...a nauseating shade of brown that looks as if its some rare form of mold that is growing on me.Peer closer at it and you can see*gasp* tiny hairs!!!I thought it was unlikely, but seems that hairy pple stay hairy.(I can't wait to get a depilator!)..But yeh, even the touch of it feels gross.I had the same grossed out feeling when I saw the grand master's corn-cushioned hands(shhhh) but ahh...he's a nice guy.Arghhhh...my hand is...itching...to peel it off.Although I know that.. 1.It was hurt later and start bleeding again. 2.It'll leave a scar. Its juz so tempting.Lols,I sound nuts...its grotesque pleasure,I know. 0o0 Did this quiz on myjellybean.com...its about which european city best suits your personality and I got... 26 - 35 POINTS: YOUR BEST EURO TRIP IS TO ROME:Style and substance in an intoxicating mix, that's you! You'll love the dolce vita (sweet life) of the "Eternal City." It's fabulous food and beautiful buildings will appeal to your senses, and you'll enjoy the heady mix of people who congegrate at its plazas and cafes. *jumps around*,yeps...Rome is one of the places that I most particularly want to visit.Rome,Paris and Venice!^_^
I was travelling on a bus 162 one afternoon afew weeks ago...And to my surprise, instead of advertisements nailed onto the interior of the bus,I saw quotable quotes plastered all over.It was seriously kinda cool, spent the rest of the short bus ride scanning the ceiling..reading the various quotes. At the end of your life, its not the number of years in your life that matters..Its the life in those years that are important. We can't all learn to be brave and patient if the world was all bright and cheery. It is not the evil in this world that makes it a cruel place,it is those who look on and do nothing. Simple strings of words. It was nothing life shattering or particularly enlightening. But they were simple truths that afew of us ever stop to consider. It was too bad the ride was so short..or I would have walked to the back of the bus to read more of the quotes(not caring what the passengers might think). To me it was the best use of space I've ever seen in the bus in a long time. 0o0 |
